a Harry Potter-verse version of the gen texting/midnight texting meme. interdepartmental memos are not just for work at the Ministry of Magic - they're for misuse in school, or between neighbours, or even from upstairs to downstairs. or perhaps your magical person is so adept at charming a paper plane that it can cross the whole city.

tl;dr: it's a general texting meme. any OCs and characters from other canons are welcome. the only rule is play in the Harry Potter-verse and make it better which we all do already by merit of not being transphobic.

[She won't bother to send a memo down, knowing that the sound that follows this one will be a knock. Her amusement and affection go unnoticed, since she rolls her eyes at the window, not at him.

She sets her papers to the side, and puts the kettle on with a bit of wandless magic, all while she walks over to the door to open it.]

Oh, you did find me a candidate then.

[ He's at least not coming empty-handed either, though technically he did get her the cake as well. There's a box of her favorite tea behind held up as he smiles at her. ]

Sadly, I didn't find anyone. So you'll have to settle for me. But I brought you tea as a consolation prize.

[She perks up at the sight of her gift, taking it out of his hand and letting him into the office with a wave.]

Oh, the posh type too - well, I mean, it is a sacrifice that I will have to make. [She'll get this into the teapot while the kettle gurgles away in the corner.]

Thank you, by the way. For checking in on me. The cake is delicious.

[ He grins a little more as he moves in, closing the door behind as he does. ] You are a brave soul to make the sacrifice.

[ While she gets the tea prepped he'll settle in the spare chair in her office, just relaxing into it. ] You're welcome.

I know you can sometimes get caught up in work, and I figured at least you'd eat the cake versus agreeing to let me drag you out to dinner or something.
