He watched her facial expressions as she considered what he'd said then smirked. "Well, it's my dream now too. I figure we can both indulge in said dream." It amazed and surprised him that they were right here and together after all this time. It was, by far, his longest relationship to date. Truth be told, he couldn't imagine not going on any adventure that she wanted to go on. He wanted to make as many memories together as they possibly could.
Sirius stayed quiet as she continued to ponder his question. He wasn't about to rush her in making some rash decision. Instead, he contented himself by playing with the strand of hair between his fingers.
When she asked where they would go first, he hummed. "Well, there are two options," he started to say with a quirk of his mouth. "We can pick a location randomly or we can start wherever your heart desires and then the next time when it's time to move on, I can choose."

"I think that's the best thing I've ever heard - you and I having a dream, but," the idea of somewhere far away was very tempting and a very large part of her wanted to accept and say nothing more. But Lily couldn't do that, there was a sense of duty in her, that made her ask the question she had a feeling he hoped she would not.
"What about everyone else? You-know-who?" Thinking about the war made her want even more to tell him that she'd go anywhere he wanted, and be ready to leave in an hour, long enough to take stock of her things and owl her Mum and Dad.
She sighed, not wanting to let her thoughts go too far down that route, and instead returned her attention to him and the stupid, handsome face she'd grown so fond of.
"We'll have to go to New Zealand. If we're going then I want to start by going far." Lily rest her hand against his shoulder, letting her thumb graze over his skin.
"And what are we going to do, you and I, as we share our dream?" She was sincerely curious, but the question was posed in such a way that she was quiet cheekily egging him on ever so slightly, wondering what he saw for them.

"It's not very Gryffindor of me, I know but...," he fell quiet as he looked at her far more seriously than he was likely prone to be. "But I want you to be safe first and foremost. It's ridiculous and hair-brained, I know. Especially with You-Know-Who out there."
His mouth curled up when she suggested New Zealand and chuckled. "We might as well go far if we're going to do this," he agreed and slid his thumb over her bottom lip gently. "We will make sure your parents are safe, first." He knew how important they were to her.
"Well, our education at Hogwarts only taught us what is standard. Every country has its own practices, magic, and specialties. I figure we can learn everything we can, everywhere we go. However, we shouldn't spend all of our time learning so we'll have to mix in a good deal of fun as well." Sirius gave her a teasing smile. "I don't know if you know this but I'm a good judge of fun."

"You know my parents will think we're going to elope," she shot him an amused, challenging look, arching her back in a little stretch before she shifted to the side and climbed out of bed. Lily reached up and smoothed her hair as she crossed the room, not bothering to cover herself as she sought out her wand in order to summon up a pot of tea.
"As though I'd have you," Lily added, smirking over at Sirius as she poured herself a cup. That particular line had been something she had enjoyed tossing at him over the time they had been together, probably about as much as he had enjoyed proving her wrong about.
She would absolutely have him and they both knew it. She had been having him for quite a while and saw no reason to stop, but this was a fairly big decision.
Still mulling it all over Lily turned, leaning back against the little table she had summoned her pot of tea to as she regarded Sirius with a fond smile on her face, listening as he detailed the highly educational things they would do, and the fun he was set on leading her into having.
When he mentioned that he qualified as a good judge of fun Lily rolled her shoulders in a shrug of assent. "You are, I'll give you that. You've yet to show me that bad of a time, and you seem to get a little less intolerable the older you get." She sipped her tea and eyed him.
"I suppose if I were to run away and never return with anyone, it would be you." She paused, then addedβ "once I speak to my family."

At her challenging look, Sirius smirked and then watched her leave the bed with a soft hum. He stretched slowly and folded an arm behind his head. "Well, if we find ourselves in a place where we simply just can't wait, I would be open to the idea of eloping." He allowed himself to look her over for a moment.
Merlin, she was more beautiful by the day.
"No, of course not," he responded with a smirk, knowing full well that she'd have him as often as he'd have her. "If we did such a thing, we could invite your parents of course. Or. Send them a mirror and they can watch it as it happens. All hypothetical, of course."
Sirius chuckled and slowly climbed out of bed before walking over to her. "It's all a part of my plan, you know. Become more and more tolerable so you run away with me," he teased, leaning down to kiss her neck before pouring himself a cup of tea.
He glanced at her when she said it would be him that she'd run away with and allowed himself a smile. "Yeah?"
no subject
As he rolled out of bed and approached she set her tea aside in favor of wrapping her arm around his shoulders while he sorted his cup of tea out.
"And if it's being engaged then you'll have to do much better than suggesting we send my parents a mirror for a proposal." Even as she was saying it, Lily wondered if a conversation about running away from everyone and everything could take a drastic turn. Until then she didn't think it possible.
Looking over at him as he turned away Lily rolled her eyes, chuckling under her breath as she leaned over and kissed his shoulder. "You are the person I love, I suppose, so it makes sense that we see the world together, and have a dream."
no subject
He smiled when her arm wrapped around him. It was nice to have someone and be with someone with who he felt so comfortable and at ease. "I suppose the question comes down to, is it particularly important for them to see the proposal or the very small, very spontaneous wedding?"
Sirius turned and wrapped his arm around her with a smile. He loved hearing her tell him that she loved him. His smile turned roguish and he couldn't help but tease her. "Wait, you love me? I'm not sure I caught that." Sirius leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to her lips before continuing on, "I love the idea of seeing the world and having a dream with the woman I love."
no subject
Taking one more sip of tea before she let herself be distracted from it forever Lily set her cup down once more, this time to lazily drape her other arm around him as well, tilting her head to look up at him. "And it's not decency, in case you were uncertain." Not that their current state of undress left much room for debate about that.
Lily rose onto the balls of her feet, kissing Sirius's neck before letting herself settle in against him. "So? Will you marry me or not, Sirius?" She paused and leaned back enough to meet his eye again, "I'm not getting down on one knee."
no subject
Not that he had exactly cared what his parents thought after being kicked out. But, after spending so much time at James's place with his parents, he could understand it, even if it was foreign at times for him.
When she proposed to him, Sirius grinned, and he was tempted (if only for a second) to be dramatic about it.
"There's nothing I want more, Lil, than to be married to you," he said, leaning down to press a slow kiss to her mouth. "That is a yes if that wasn't terribly clear."
i thought i replied to this i'm a monster
Wrapping her arms back around him she pulled him closer to her, holding that kiss for a moment longer before drawing away just enough to rest her forehead against his, laughing softly.
"I can't believe I asked you that," she admitted softly, going a deeper shade of red as she pressed a fast kiss to his lips. "I've loved you for so long Sirius."
no subject
"Somehow I am not surprised that you were the one to ask me. I always knew you had it in you," he teased her with a warm smile. Sirius loved when she told him that and he was thankful that despite everything (himself in particular), they were here together. Still. "I have loved you for so damn long."
His mouth curled up in a mischievous grin. "Now I just need to pick up a ring for you. Or, do you need to get me one since you asked?"
no subject
Lily tilted her head back and kissed the underside of his chin, chuckling when he brought up the issue of engagement rings. "I think we ought to just skip straight to wedding rings," she paused to nibble his neck lightly, shifting against him. "Unless you'd like me to make a proper fuss and get you one, though knowing you it's likely giving you something you can tease me about for the rest of our lives might be the better gift."
no subject
He considered her suggestion before nodding. "Well, I do enjoy when you make a proper fuss over me however in this case, skipping straight to wedding rings sounds like a good idea. Simpler," he said before making a low noise when she starts nibbling on his neck.
Merlin, this woman.
Sirius leaned down to kiss and nibble along her bare shoulder. "Mm, we can discuss particulars later, yeah?" Because now, he had other more indulgent ideas in mind.
no subject
Lily reached a hand up to brush his cheek as she shivered from the touch of his lips against her shoulder, humming out a low laugh against his neck. "Later? Did you have something else in mind first?"
no subject
"Well, I have a few things in mind but if you want to speak to your parents or plan things before we move onto other pleasurable activities, then we can hold off?" Even as he said it though, Sirius's mouth found her neck and nuzzled at the smooth skin.
end!
"If you have something in mind it deserves my immediate utmost attention."
