The change in the beast's posture sent another roaring pulse of alarm through her, and she drew back swiftly, not wanting to turn her wand on the wolf, but uncertain what to make of the way it now held itself.

"You're alright darling," she attempted, her voice shaky but kind, unwilling to turn her back on the creature, even though she was certain it was more than capable of tearing her to pieces if it wanted to.

It wasn't acting like any animal she had seen before, and its size made it all the more daunting and extraordinary, making her certain its nature was magical, and that there was a good chance it was in some kind of distress. She couldn't turn her back on it now.
