Scenarios
① Ask Your Date to the Yule Ball - Invite that special someone or ask your best friend. There is nothing wrong with going as friends!
② Dress Shopping/Dress Robe Shopping - It's time to find that perfect outfit! Or have one mailed to you and ask someone to alter it for you if need be.
③ Getting Ready - It's time to get ready for the ball, do you feel that nervous flutter?
④ Picking Up Your Date - Go and pick up your date, the ball is about to start!
⑤ The First Dance - It's time for the first dance. Are you ready?
⑥ Refreshment Table - Let's hope ~~someone~~ no one spiked the punch! We're looking at you Marauders. We see that flask, Sirius...
⑦ The Courtyard - Need a break from dancing and people? We get that. Go into the courtyard and get a breath of fresh air. Just be sure no teacher catches you making out with your date.
⑧ Wardrobe Malfunction - The absolute worst timing, a wardrobe malfunction! What do you do?
⑨ Chaperone - Are you a chaperone for the evening? How'd you get stuck with that gig? Better make sure the Marauders aren't creating havoc or spiking the punch!
⑩ Free Choice - You know what, you do your thing!

"You're a lark," she drawled, glaring at him. "I am not dealing with the girls pissed at midnight, Sirius, I mean it. Not with NEWTS right around the corner, so could you not spike -"

She pauses and looks over his shoulder. "I will hex you both, I swear."

"But Hermione...," Sirius started before catching her glance over his shoulder. "James," he turned around and gave his best mate a wide grin. "Looks like we've been caught, mate."

"Hermione," James said with a wide grin, his own flask slipping back into his pocket. "You look lovely as ever."

Sirius looked at Hermione and held out a hand. "Now that you've caught us and kept us from spiking the punch. Would you care to dance?"

She blinks, surprised by the invitation even coming. For a second, she considers his hand seriously (ha!), but then she squints, looking between the two of them in suspicion.

"Riiiight, as if you're honestly asking me to dance, instead of just clearing the way for your pal to spike the punch."

"Hermione! I am hurt that you would think such a thing of us," Sirius said, holding a hand up to cover his heart. "Would we ever do something like that?"

The answer was obviously yes they would (and have).

She opens her mouth to start to say it, and then gets a twinge of a headache. She calls this the Sirius Black twinge. It starts at her eyebrow and just goes down to her jaw, and is a bitch.

She takes what she hopes is a menacing, imposing step towards him, and hisses, "Listen you, I am not dealing with drunk giggles in the dorm well past midnight, so if you both - actually, scratch that, if all of you know what's good for you, you'll leave the punch alone and not get my roommates drunk tonight." She pulls back with a sniff. "I've exams to study for."

"But it's a weekend, Hermione - Friday in fact! You have all weekend to study," Sirius said with a side roguish smile. "Won't you join us for a while? You can afford a small break, can't you?"

"Pretty sure it's Thursday," she mutters under her breath, because there's no arguing with Sirius anyway.

And in response to that, she sends a quick hex over Sirius' shoulder, catching Potter in the shin just as he's trying to sneakily spike the punch again.

"Merlin, you both - how have you managed to get away with pranks, you're utterly unsubtle!"

"Because we're charming and devastatingly good looking? That usually does the trick," Sirius said with a wide smile. "And besides, it is Friday-Eve which means, we can survive a day in class hung over, Hermione! Come, have a drink or two with us. We will be on our bestest behavior."

"Owch, yes, the very best behavior," James said from behind him.
