Harry walked into the private dining room that Hermione had requested for their use that evening. He took a moment to search and take down any eavesdropping instruments he could locate and knew Hermione would or had done the same already. He didn't want this to get out to the public if they could at all help it. He had spent most of the day putting his Aurors through their paces and had perhaps had been a bit too hard on them but honestly, it wasn't any worse than what they could possibly face outside the walls of the Ministry. It was at that time that he regretted, again, that he hadn't sought further education and training from the ICW.

Once he was content knowing he'd taken down anything that could listen in on them, he cast his own set of privacy charms around the room that would allow their guests and waiter/waitress to enter but would not be able to listen in. He turned to look at Hermione and gave her a smile. Spending the evening talking with her and having dinner had probably been one of the best nights he's had in a long time. It had infuriated him to know Ron had been an even bigger arse in regard to Hermione's parents after the war. What gave him the right?

"Are you ready," he asked, walking over to her and watching her face closely.

He'd taken the potion already today and was glad that his intelligent and beautiful best friend had found something that would work. Harry loathed that they'd been treated this way after all they'd done for the Weasley family.

Ginny would be getting off work momentarily and getting cleaned up before she made her way to the restaurant. Ron... well he didn't give a rats arse. He was looking forward to knowing just how much the man knew.

Hermione had seem to the charm herself. NOt only setting it but ensuring it was nearly undetectable. Besides, if Ron was warned, felt off, he would likely think it the drink and not think they would go this far. He was simple minded in that and she wasn't worried about him finding the charm.

She was, however, worried about how things would go when Ron realized the truth.

He chuckles though about the shop. "It's doing great. George is actually a whiz with things, and I've learned the book charms well enough to keep things running behind the scenes. Doesn't hurt he goes on about knowing you in school," he says with a laugh. "Sometimes, to hear him tell it, you were best mates."

Hermione can't help a smile at that. "Doesn't that absolutely sound like George then. How is Angelina? I should get around more to say hi to her but haven't."

"Sounds like George," he agreed with a chuckle and settles back in his chair. "If telling people we were best mates helps, then I'll let anyone who asks that we were close." Besides, he did still have some vestment in the place after all. It was one of the best decisions he had made back in those days.

"Is George selling the potion your Mum has been giving us in the shop? Or is it a side business for her," he asked nonchalantly, raising the glass back to his mouth for a drink. He had his wand within reach if Ron flew off the handle. And considering Ron's past temper, it was a warranted feeling.

He was rather glad that Ginny had been held up. He wanted to know about Ron first before knowing how much she knew.

"I'll let him know then. I mean, can't hurt, right? People still see you as a savior, after all."

Hermione wonders if she's imagining that look on Ron's face, that he seems to add a twist to those words. She's not sure it's imagination, that he truly has issues with Harry and all he had done for the wizarding community.

But then he straight out asks that question and all of the color drains from Ron's face. It makes his freckles stand out starkly and his eyes go wide. He looks sickly as hell, and truth is, that is all the answer Hermione needs.

"What are you two talking about?"

"I hadn't said anything yet," Hermione points out, arching a brow. "But curious you're feeling attacked by both of us then. Answer the question. You know what, don't." She looks at Harry. "No one George would sell something like that, let's be honest. Maybe we've been wrong all along," she says, baiting him. "Maybe it's just been Ron and Molly had nothing to do with it."

"Don't you dare! I will not be blamed for this," he says, stopping suddenly, realizing what he's said.

Harry chuckled darkly as he watched Ron's face as it went from seething jealousy to shock to sick and finally back to furious. Although the spell on the chair was subtle, he knew Ron had no choice but to answer the absolute truth. He spared a glance at Hermione and nodded just a fraction. "You're right. George would never do something like that... but that would mean that Ron would have to have the aptitude to create such a potion and you never did like potions, did you," he asked rhetorically. "It's no surprise though that she would get her baby to help her make a living outside of the home," he mused, setting his glass back down onto the table, never taking his eyes off the redhead across from him.

"So are Hermione and I simply special then or have you been selling it at the shop now that you know how to work the books, so to speak? I would like to know how far this goes before pressing charges."

He was not surprised one bit that Ron had shown his hand that quickly and was pleased with it, honestly. The quicker they got this done, spoke to Ginny the quicker they'd be done with it. With him.

Hermione didn't lean in for the kill. No, instead she shifted back, leaning against her chair and sipping her wine. Watching Ron though her attention is wholly and fully on Harry. Letting him handle this because, truly, it amuses her. It's cruel and maybe wrong, but it does.

Now that she knows the truth, knows that Ron knew, she is going to be the vindictive monster she knows she can be.

"Look, you two are stirring up things you got no right messing in. Did mum push you both? Sure. But you both were meant to be part of this family. You know so. Dumbledore told her so."

All of that calm demeanor is gone then.

"What the bloody hell do you mean by that?"

Ron glanced between them, frowning, confused. "Come on. You didn't know? Dumbledore told mum before you either came to Hogwarts that I would meet you both and you would be part of our family. He even told her to be on the watch for you at King Cross that morning when we started."

Hermione's head was spinning, absolutely stunned. Not that Dumbledore said it. Oh no, she believed it was all true, but that they hadn't seen it before.

"What about the others? Angelica? Fleur?"

Ron shook his head. "Angelica was always in love with Fred and George. Losing Fred only made it easier on her," he said, and it's that kind of statement that makes Hermione know she would never have married someone like Ron. George and Angelica both lost someone they loved. It was never easier for any of them. "And Fleur and Bill are true love, mum says."

If Harry thought he was furious before, it was nothing in comparison to what he was hearing out of the bastard's mouth. He took a moment to simply breath before he did something he might regret.

"No, we bloody well didn't know. Dumbledore didn't have a single right to determine what our lives were supposed to be," he said icily. "Molly didn't push us so much as fucking manipulated us, you arrogant arse."

His hands clenched around the table so he didn't reach for his wand. It was well within reason to believe that Dumbledore would have made decisions on his behalf for his twisted "greater good" bullshit. But to go so far as to promise him to the Weasley family? Promise HERMIONE to the Weasley family?

How dare he.

If he could, he'd resurrect the fucker and kill him himself.

At least he and Hermione can be comforted in the fact that Bill and Fleur were true to each other and hadn't needed to be potioned to create this bloody family.

"You say we have no right in messing with it," Harry said, his eyes betraying just how furious he was. "I disagree. We have every single right to mess with our lives. It will not continue. I will press charges against the Weasley family if I have to. You will give Hermione a divorce without a single complaint if that is her choice," though he knew that's exactly what she'd want.

He wanted to know from Ginny's mouth how much she knew about this "greater" plan. Though the temptation to ask Ron was strong.

"She's literally been poisoning us to do what she wants, and you... you let her? Encouraged her?" Hermione sneers, her eyes narrowing. "Helped her?"

"It's not poisoning! It's just a little magic push. Our entire lives are magic. What's the problem with using magic when you need it?" He's defensive, and turning about as red as his hair and he's just about as pissy as they are. "You two are acting all high and mighty and we invited you into our family. Mum let you be with us."

His eyes widen at Harry's words. "You'll what? And tell your kids what? Our kids what? You'd really just walk off and leave them?" He sneers at Hermione. "Not that you haven't already. You're constantly off working. Off..."

He looks between them, suddenly ferretty and sly and suspicious.

"You two are hooking up, aren't you? That's what this is about?"

Before they can answer, a voice from outside the door squeaks and Ginny sweeps in. "Wait, what? They've been doing what?"

Although he would be damned to show it in front of Ron, he truly thought Hermione was beautiful at that moment when she sneered at Ron. The little weasel deserved it, if you asked him. He deserved more than her disdain though.

"It was poison, plain and simple. You can call it whatever helps you sleep at night but the fact remains that she poisoned us. We're only so lucky that it hasn't done permanent damage to our magic and/or our magic core," he stated, narrowing his eyes at him. "I never wanted to be a part of your family, Ronald Weasley."

And damn, that was in fact true. He had been jealous of the love and affection the youngest male Weasley had in spades from his family members but he'd seen how overbearing Molly had been. How obsessive and fickle Ron had been over the years. Even now Ron couldn't hide his jealousy of the (unwanted) attention he gained.

"I will press charges first thing in the morning," he said coldly, staring at him. "What happens to the children, we'll figure it out and discuss it with him.

He turned his attention to Ginny as she walked in the room. "He believes Hermione and I are having a clandestine affair right under your noses," he stated and turned back to Ron with an arched eyebrow. "We're not, for the record. And even if we were, it hardly matters now."

Harry stood from the table and pulled out the last chair at the table for Ginny to sit.

Ginny is not looking at all happy about this, but her attention is on her brother, not Harry. "How could you even think that? I know for a fact that if Harry wasn't interested in being with me still, he would have come to me and talked to me about it."

She slides into the chair, looking tense and uncomfortable at the tension in the air. Glancing between all three of them, her gaze finally settling on Hermione. "Is this just a stupid case of male jealousy and my brother acting like he did at Hogwarts?"

Hermione is just about near ready to go off the deep end, to jump on Ron both physically and mentally. If Ginny hadn't come into the room, she might have done just that. Staring at Ginny, drawing a deep breath and not even wasting time. She has her suspicions but she needs to know.

"Did you know your mum poisoned Harry and I to ensure that we married you and Ron?"

"My mum did what?!' She doesn't question it, not even seeming to doubt it as she looks to Ron and then to Harry. "She... you..."

Hermione watches the confusion on Ginny's face, the way Ron is turning deeply red, angry and about to explode. It makes Hermione realize something. She slides the bottle out of her pocket, holding it out to Ginny. "Here, drink this."

"Don't!" Ron dives for it, trying to jerk it out of Hermione's hand.

She scrambles back, letting Ginny take it. The redhead stares at her brother, wide eyed and terrified and drinks down most of the potion.

Hermione wasn't the only one who had the urge to curse or punch Ron. The emotion was strong in him as well but he was going to hold off on it until Ginny wasn't there. It wouldn't do to hit her brother until he knew how much or how little she knew about the situation at hand.

When Ginny reacted with that expression and Ron told her not to drink the potion, he knew. She hadn't known and was just as much of a victim as they had been. He sat back in his chair and watched as Ginny drank it down. "It shouldn't take long," he assured her before sending a narrowed look to Ron.

"Tell me this, Ron, do you even care that you manipulated us for as long as we've known you? Did you care one ounce about Hermione or was it simply about having her like you were the best friend to the Boy-Who-Fucking-Lived?" He didn't really think the boy had any feelings toward them whatsoever other than possessiveness.

"What did I drink?"

She trusted them, so there was that, and that kind of means a lot to Hermione. "A counterpotion I made. Someone realized the potion on me and I worked to counter it. I tested it on Harry, realizing he had been given the same thing. Your mum has been feeding us, all three of us, a love potion for years. To ensure we were part of the Weasley family."

"I love her and I had every right to marry her," he says, sneering at Harry. It's a possessiveness that makes Hermione's stomach churn.

But it's Ginny who speaks up. "And it didn't matter that she didn't love you?"

"I love her."

"So because you love her, that meant she automatically had to be your wife and it didn't matter one iota that she didn't love you," Harry said icily, reiterating what Ginny had already said. "You're a sad sack of shit. No. Scratch that, a pathetic sack of shit."

He was glad that Ginny had trusted him enough to take the potion and was relieved, sadly, that she hadn't known of them being poisoned. Because that's what it ultimately was. It poisoned them to be someone, be with someone they may not have wanted to be with.

"But let's face it, you were always a lazy arse. Lazy and unremarkable."

Harry glanced at Ginny and sent her a warm look. By now, he realized that he did care about his wife, loved her and respected her but not... in the way that one would expect as a ultimate happily ever after. "It didn't take long for me to feel the effect... it took about 30 minutes to truly feel a difference."

Ginny can't help but to pace, staying near to Hermione and Harry. She thought she was coming to dinner and now she's learning that so much is going on she never knew about, and she hates it.

"How long have you known?"

"Only a few days. I went to Harry as soon as I knew and then we came here."

"And the others?"

"According to your brother..."

"Don't call him that."

"According to Ron, we're the only ones. I will have to run the countercurse on the others."

Ginny sighs, glancing between Harry and Hermione.

Ron clears his throat. "Mum won't let you do that. She's worked too hard for this. Besides, you have children."

Hermione snarls then, because how dare he used their children against them? She stalks around the table, her hand moving and Ron is drawn up suddenly as if she was gripping the front of his shirt.

"Listen to me right now. I will take this public, take it to the Council and make sure all of the wizarding world is every single country knows what is going on here. That she poisoned the boy that lived. I will make sure they all know you had a hand in it as well. And if you threaten us one more time, I swear by Merlin's very soul they will never find your body."

Harry watched as Ginny paced and knew she was agitated, for a good reason too. While they'd kept it secret for a reason, he did hate that she had to find out like this. He was only thankful that the restaurant allowed them to decide when they needed their waiter. But that might've had something more to do with Hermione's directions than it did on a typical night for a more normal dinner.

He picked up his glass and drained it. When Ron mentioned his mother, Harry slammed the glass back down on the table and glared at the little weasel sitting across from him. His eyebrows rose when Hermione was the one to attack him first and allowed himself a little smile.

She was a beautiful sight when she got riled up like this.

"Not only would the ICW care to know but many of the other wizarding governments would as well," he mentioned airily as he refilled his glass. He left it where it was sitting though as he settled back in his seat. He knew Hermione could defend herself and so wasn't worried. That didn't mean though that he wasn't ready to strike if something happened. "You really like to think Britain is the only one worth caring about but you don't truly realize the amount of power the other organizations have." He wasn't talking to Hermione or Ginny, he knew Ron was narrowminded enough to not realize the severity of it.

"Charges will be placed first thing in the morning (if he was honest, it was more like as soon as they left the restaurant) and it will go public," he said, watching Ron with a firm gaze. "Don't you think for a second it won't."

He spared a look at Ginny and knew they would have a lot to discuss in the upcoming hours and days.

Ron struggled but he isn't the wizard or witch that any of them were, and he couldn't fight back. Not on their level. It's how Hermione knew she never would have chosen this man as her husband. Even if she could never be with Harry, she would have wanted a spouse that challenged her mentally and emotionally. Not one that she carried in each and every way imaginable. Even as a father he was pathetic and did nothing to truly help their children.

"I will admit," Hermione says with a snarl. "Molly is more Ginny than she is you because that spell was stronger than anything you could ever be capable of." Or most witches could be, truly. If it wasn't an attack on her and Harry she would be nearly impressed.

"You can't do this! You can't just ruin our lives like this!"

"You ruined ours!"

And that was Ginny not Hermione suddenly standing at the other witches side.

"No offense, Harry but I don't know if I would have chosen to marry. You or anyone," she admits. "But no one asked any of us! And you! You chose to do this because you couldn't get a girlfriend if your life depended on it."

She looks to Harry. "I'll come forward with you both. My life and career may be ruined but I want people to know. I want to make sure they don't do it again."

It was truly pathetic how little Ronald Weasley was truly capable of. It might've not be like that had he not been spoiled and coddled by his mother and that he didn't rely on his blood status to make moves for him in this world but it was the case now. Without the potion, there was no way in hell, he would have ended up with an amazing and talented woman like Hermione.

Harry went to open his mouth but then it was Ginny this time to took him by surprise. He exhaled a rough breath. "Oh thank fuck," he said then coughed. "Sorry, but I agree," he admitted with a rueful sort of smile at her then turned his hardened gaze to the other male in the room.

"You don't give an absolute shit about the lives you ruined so why the fuck would we care about your ruined life," he asked with a tilt of his head. He turned his attention back to Ginny and nodded. "You got it," he agreed. "Thank you, Ginny."

"As for you," he said, standing from the table. "Outside of a pending trial, I never want to see you ever again. Our friendship ended the moment you agreed with Molly to poison us and ruin our lives," he said with an icy and hard tone to his voice. "If Hermione wants a divorce, you are to grant her one. And since you hardly spend time with your children as it is, that shouldn't be an issue."

Despite how crazy things are, and how messed up this is, Ginny can't help but to laugh when Harry says that. "I mean, you're not a bad guy but..." But she had only had a lot of feelings for one person and she had never explored them. Harry had been... safe, if she was honest, but she did care about him a lot. Just as she did Hermione.

Hermione steps back from Ron, reaching out for Ginny's hand. "Silencio," she says, even as Ron opens his mouth. "Come on. Let's get out of here before he summons your mother," she says, moving for the door. "Harry?"

She moves towards the door, pausing to look back at him. "We owe Ginny dinner," she says, as if this is all casual and she isn't holding onto Ginny's hand like she's going to die without that connection. "Leave him. He's pathetic."

"But we're not in love - there's no passion. It's safe," he finished with a little smile. "I cannot agree more, Ginny." He was just thankful he hadn't had to have an uncomfortable drawn out confession with her. Harry cared for her like he imagine he'd care for a younger sister. Only this one he's had sex with and married... so not quite like a sister but it didn't matter. Their feelings hadn't been consulted in the matter.

He watched as Hermione took Ginny's hand and smiled. "Of course," he walked over to them, leaving behind a silent Ronald Weasley. "We owe her at the very least dinner," he agreed with a smile, giving Hermione's should a squeeze then Ginny's. "Dinner is on me so decide where you ladies want to go as I settle our tab."

It didn't take long before the bill for the bottle of wine was paid and he rejoined the two women. "Did you decide on somewhere?"

It feels freeing, empowering. She's been through a war but suddenly, with this, Hermione finally feels she's free. Even if she's sure that it's not over, and won't be any time soon. They're going to make a scene, others are going to know about what's going on, and all of Molly's children are going to have to wonder if they're truly loved.

"We need to talk to Bill before we go public and prove to him his love is real. I don't want him to hear about what Molly did and think..."

Ginny makes a sound of pain. "Oh we have to! We can't let him think that." She leans into Hermione. "You believe it's real, right?"

Hermione nods. "I need it to be," she admits, meaning it. "But you're right, we'll start there."

Nodding as Harry goes off, talking with Ginny about their options. When he comes back, she smiles wickedly. "Ginny wants to eat in London, in the muggle world. Pick a bar."

Ginny smirks. "Do you know how long it's been since I've had a night out without the k... wait, you know," she says with a laugh. "I should be upset. Why am I not upset?"

The moment Ginny agreed that she wouldn't have married him if given an actual choice, Harry felt free. The only part that Harry was just a little concerned about were their children. But they'd come to that bridge later. For now, it just felt right that they their feelings, for once, were their own. Not the product of someone or something else.

"When we get back, we'll send an owl to Bill first thing," he said, because he too needed to know that what Bill and Fleur had was true.

Once he'd tucked his wallet into his pocket, Harry picked up Hermione's free hand and sent them an amused grin. "I know of a perfect muggle bar," he said. "Has great food and even better drinks." They definitely needed it after tonight.

"Because our feelings weren't our own and for once we can be who we truly are. If given the choice, I'm not sure kids would have actually come into play..." he ventured, leading them toward the pub he knew a few streets away from the restaurant. It wasn't as though he could, in good conscious, leave his kids with Molly Weasley for the rest of their lives.

Hermione squeezes Harry's hand. They have been through a lot in the last hour and even more in the last few days. Yet they're here now, together, and she is just glad to know that she is herself and she won't have to go back to that marriage. She can't stand thinking about it and how she literally feels free. Free for the first time since they literally had to fight a war. How does her marriage feel almost worse than that?

Glad they're working out things with Bill, she wants to focus on tonight before they do something to destroy a lot of lives, and hopefully only those that deserve to have their lives ruined.

"Okay, I love our kids but..." She sighs. "I can't help but think about where my career would be." She's playing professionally but having kids had slowed down a lot for her, and now she knows why she would have made that choice.

"I think it's safe to say that we would have all gone in slightly different directions in our careers had we not had kids...," Harry said with a small smile. "I turned down opportunities at the ICW, among others because of the kids." He stayed silent for a moment as they walked to the pub and exhaled a long breath. "It's one thing for my life to have continued to be manipulated but neither of you deserved that." It pissed him off that it had happened in the first place but all they could really do is change it from here.

However they could.

Harry gave Hermione's hand a gentle squeeze before releasing it and opening the door to the pub when they reached it. "After you ladies," he said with a warm smile.

"Harry, you do know I wouldn't have taken that from you. Even with the kids. I..." She shakes her head. "I'm betting that potion she's been feeding us made us think you couldn't," she says, sighing as the enormity of the entire situation starts to weigh down on her. "I can't... I can't believe my mum did this to me," she says. "To us. I..."

She's lost a lot of her family, she realizes, and not knowing which side of things they would all come out on. She might lose all of her family if she's not careful but then if they side with her mum, does she want them in her life?

Hermione gave Harry's hand a squeeze back and then slid an arm around Ginny, leading her to a booth.

"I can't believe she did either, but none of this is your fault. She hurt us all, and now all we can do is pick up the pieces. You're not in this alone though. You've got Harry and me. Okay?"

"I have no doubt the potion influenced a lot of our decisions - careers, the number of kids... hell, probably even our kids' names," he said with a exhale and followed them toward the booth. He made eye contact with one of the servers and motioned over to the booth they'd chosen. For a weekday evening, even in London, Harry was grateful it wasn't packed to the brim yet.

"Hermione is right, Gin - none of it was your fault. Now that we know, you've got us," Harry said, sliding into one side of the booth.

He thought once they showed their proof to some of the more level headed Weasley's, there would be more on their side than not. "We will need to make a decision about the kids though... Lily is with Molly now. By now, I'm sure Ron has ran to her to tell her, I'm conflicted on how to proceed."

"Let's see the fallout and what happens when we talk tot he authorities," Hermione says with a tight smile. "And we'll go from there. Together."

They ate, they tried to stay calm, but the dinner was tense but it was a few hours and a few muggle drinks later before Harry and Hermione made their way back to Grimmauld Place, hand in hand.

Once inside, the wards up and the doors locked, Hermione collapses on a couch in the parlor with a sigh. "I feel so free and so scared at the same time," she announces. To herself. To Harry and Kreacher. To the world, she guesses. "I hope Ginny's going to be okay."
